Mr. Serratore earned his Law Degree from Santa Clara University in 1989 and his Bachelors Degree in Philosophy from San Diego State University in 1986. He earned the highest peer review rating possible from Martindale-Hubbell ("AV") in 2000 and has upheld that rating for over a decade.
In 2010, the Daily Journal – California’s Largest Legal News Provider - named Mr. Serratore one of California’s Top Ten Employment Attorneys. AVVO, an unbiased lawyer rating system, has rated Mr. Serratore 10 out of 10 and assigned a "superb" rating, the highest rating possible.
Mr. Serratore began mediating cases in 1993 as a volunteer for the Los Angeles County Superior Courts. He continued his volunteer mediation service for the Los Angeles County Superior Courts from 1996 through 2006. From 2005 to 2010, Mr. Serratore served on the United States District Court - Central District of California Mediator Panel. Beginning in 2007, Mr. Serratore began offering private, full-time Mediation Services.
Steven Serratore devoted over twenty years to litigating employment and business matters. Between 1989 and 1994, Mr. Serratore represented corporate defendants and insurance companies in employment and civil litigation matters in Southern California, last with the international trial firm of Sedgwick, Detert, Moran & Arnold. In 1994, Mr. Serratore joined Perkovich & Ball LLP in Pasadena at the invitation of a former adversary and trial lawyer with Girardi & Keese where he developed an employment law practice. In 1997, Mr. Serratore formed his own law firm exclusively representing employees and businesses in employment related matters. Two years later Mr. Serratore formed Serratore • Ames LLP with his former law school friend and colleague Scott Ames. The firm enjoyed ten years of success before Mr. Serratore began mediating on a full-time basis.
Mr. Serratore is a Member and Distinguished Fellow of the International Academy of Mediators, and various other professional organizations. Mr. Serratore formerly served as a member of the board of governors of the Beverly Hills Bar Association and executive committee member for the Board’s Labor and Employment Section. In 2001 he was elected Chair of the Labor and Employment Section of the Beverly Hills Bar Association. Mr. Serratore is also a member of the American Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Section, Los Angeles County Bar Association Labor and Employment Section, the California Employment Lawyers Association and the National Employment Lawyers Association.
Mr. Serratore is a frequent speaker at seminars and events sponsored by the Labor & Employment sections of the American Bar Association and California State Bar, Los Angeles County Bar Association, Beverly Hills Bar Association, Pasadena Bar Association, as well as for the California Employment Lawyers Association and California Lawyer Magazine.
